Paul is exactly what his consulting practice promises. As BCA's CTO, he gave independent, clear-eyed advice on IT and cybersecurity decisions, and always tied them back to what actually mattered for the business, not technology for its own sake. He led the navigation of hard tradeoffs, risk versus cost, security versus speed, with a rational, level-headed approach that made those decisions easier to act on. He was also genuinely collaborative, someone who built trust across the organization, not just with the technical team. On top of that, he's simply a good person with whom to work. Any organization bringing him on for IT strategy, cybersecurity, or infrastructure guidance will be in good hands.

I worked under Paul for almost 2 years at BCA Research. There's no doubt he has a strong technical background, from DevOps to application and server security. But what sets Paul apart - and this is important - is his ability to connect with people in a human, meaningful way. An honest well-wisher, an eloquent speaker, and an inspiring advisor, he is the guy who goes to bat for you when things get tough.

If I can highlight three traits, they'd be his optimism, his candidness, and his commitment to quality. Of course, I can't forget about his commitment to humanitarian projects - whether helping Ukrainian refugees, or supporting local charities like Batshaw and Moisson Montreal - his dedication to these causes reflects his genuine, caring nature.

Overall, Paul is a true professional and his absence from BCA has left a gaping void that will be difficult to fill.

I had the pleasure of working with Paul at Delinian in the same division. He consistently demonstrates a bias for action, ensuring projects progress smoothly. Paul also contributed enormously to the company's team spirit. He organized the annual holiday charity and promoted it fervently to produce impressive results. This spirit of giving and sacrifice during the holidays left an after-effect that improved the overall company culture at all times. Paul is an ideal IT manager and he will be a huge asset to any company he joins.

He's approachable, incredibly knowledgeable, and always willing to share insights or lend support, making him an invaluable colleague and leader.

To simply say "I have worked with Paul" is an understatement. We have in fact worked closely together at BCA Research for his entire 28+ years there, and he was undoubtedly the number one reason for my own long career as an applications developer with that company.

In the '90s, I was a part-time consultant to BCA for several years prior to his arrival. We immediately established a great working relationship. Over time, with his vision and guidance in terms of where the technology at BCA was headed, and his open-door management style, that consulting gig turned into a full-time, ongoing parade of highly interesting projects and challenges - all of which made the job a greatly rewarding experience throughout.

His flexible, team-oriented approach allowed myself and others to explore and learn new skills, and to express a great degree of creativity in solving the challenges at hand. It felt very much that we were all partners in the evolution of the company's IT systems.

As the CEO mentioned, Paul and his teams literally built the IT stack for BCA from the ground up. Together, we delivered dozens of highly customized features, applications, and database components, tuned to the precise requirements of BCA's research staff. New ideas were always welcome, and Paul competently kept us abreast of new tools and techniques, guiding us to, together, continually enhance the systems we were able to provide for BCA's success. The results speak volumes about Paul's effectiveness as head of IT systems throughout those years.
